Every year the VHTA PAC gives out thousands of dollars in political contributions for candidates and committees.  The PAC is funded from personal contributions by members as well as our annual PAC Golf Tournament.

2010 Hospitality Golf Tournament

The 2010 Hospitality Golf Tournament was held on May 18, 2010.  VHTA PAC & Outback Steakhouse hosted the event. This year the tournament took place in Fredericksburg, where Golf Digest named the Cannon Ridge Golf Club course one of the “Best Places to Play” in 2006; 2008-2009. 

Statement from the PAC Chairman

As an association, we are deeply grateful for your support throughout the year. Your time, resources, and financial contributions are valued and do not go un-noticed. With all of your commitments and all of our priorities, there is one critical committee that often gets neglected, and it is arguably one of our most important entities as an association. I am of course speaking of the VHTA PAC.

With an upcoming election year, and all of the numerous political challenges we face, it is vital that our PAC has the leverage and the ability to protect and preserve our industry’s best interests. That is why I am asking every member to strongly consider contributing to our PAC.

As members of this great association, we certainly know of all the challenges we face, and we also know we cannot sit on the sidelines and watch the government over-regulate, over-tax, and over-burden our businesses. It not only takes committed, active, and motivated members to fight this fight. It takes money!

Supporting the VHTA PAC gives the association a loud, political voice and the strength to help elect officials who support our industry! In years past our contributions and fundraising efforts have been noble, but nowhere near the levels that they need to be in order for us to have our voice heard loud and clear. If every member contributed to our PAC, and if we had the full support of our association with our fundraising events, we can make a substantial impact and become a force on Capitol Hill no one can ignore!

Often it is only a few votes that keep anti-business laws from passing. We can collectively change the political future of the hospitality and travel industry by speaking with a unified voice. Your contribution to VHTA PAC brings that voice to Virginia’s lawmakers by helping elect Delegates and Senators who promote and protect the interests of our industry. You can make a difference by making a financial commitment to VHTA PAC.
